How do I install a font?
Short Answer: Put the file into your Windows\Fonts folder
Long Answer: Download the file (remember where you save it!). Then double click on the file to open (unzip) it. Place the files into the Windows\Fonts directory. You can manually drag them into the fonts directory (if you have it open) or use the Extract tool (if using WindowsXP).
How do I use a new font with a software?
Answer: If you have the software open when installing the font(s), many times, you'll need to close and relaunch the application. This is because most programs that allow you to use fonts load a font list upon initialization and thus require restarting.
How do I use a new font for a website?
Answer: Using fonts on websites is tricky! Using standard web code the files must be on the viewers system in order for them to view the fonts. There are ways to embed fonts (using javascript, flash, and other methods). We use Flash on this site.
Answer: Windows can comfortably handle up to 1000 fonts in its fonts directory. However, having that many fonts installed can bog down some older (slower) computers and is difficult to manage. Imagine trying to find a font amongst 1000 fonts!
Answer: Yes! We offer a "Download All" option to download one big zip file containing all the fonts available on this site! However, due to the bandwidth this generates, this function isn't free! There is a $10.00 USD per/download fee for this option.
Are all the fonts on this site free?
Answer: All of the fonts available on this site are free. They are the property of their respective authors and are, typically, freeware, shareware, and/or demo fonts free for public use. Be sure to read the readme files included with each font for specific instructions on commercial use.
